To ensure the microbiological safety (germs, mould, spores) of our liquid formula, we use a small amount of sodium benzoate (a preservative that has been approved for over 65 years (WHO, USA, and Europe).
The substance is widely used in foods such as fruit juices, jams and multivitamin drinks – we use only 0.02% of the permitted maximum amount of 0.1%. Developed with respect for child development, natural nutrient supply and clear transparency. No sugar. No colourings. Minimally and safely preserved.
While many children’s products such as well-known fruit drinks or gummy bears rely on multiple preservatives, colourings and sugar, our Kids Formula contains only 0.01% of a proven, safe preservative – that’s 90% less than in some juice packs.
Why benzene formation is impossible with our preservation method:
Our formula was developed and bottled under pharmaceutical conditions. The combination of sodium benzoate and vitamin C is completely safe under controlled conditions – benzene formation is impossible.
Six factors must come together for benzene formation to occur:
Necessary for benzene formation:
- Ascorbic acid (vitamin C)
- Benzoic acid / sodium benzoate
- Trace elements such as iron or copper (catalysts)
- Light (UV radiation)
- Oxygen (oxidation)
- Elevated temperature above 50°C for a prolonged period (months)
